2016 Season Highlights

As 2016 comes to an end, we’re proud to look back on some of our favorite moments and accomplishments around the club!

Charitable Giving

All the members at Kernwood continue to support our philanthropy mission. Together, we have strengthened our Club’s legacy and have helped to give back to so many amazing causes.

Total Funds Raised in 2016 by Kernwood Members was $199,300!

-The fifth annual Swing to Support Dana Farber Raised approximately $115,000.

-The Kernwood Cares Charity Pro-Am raised over $52,000 for over 20 local and national organizations.

-17 Kernwood employees received a total of $14,000 in Scholarships this year all made possible by member donations.

-Members pledged $18,300 to our very own employee George Merry, as he represented Kernwood in the annual Ouimet Scholarship Golf Marathon.

-Kernwood Members volunteered to help serve hot meals to the homeless at the My Brother’s Table Soup Kitchen in Lynn. It was a truly rewarding experience for all and a great way to lend a hand.

-The KCC community came together with a successful sock drive, donating to 4 North Shore Charities.

-Th membership came together and raised $16,665 for Beth White & her family in the Philippines.

Golf

The beautiful weather called for the most rounds of golf played in 10 years for the summer months alone! We were so fortunate to have had an ideal summer season filled with clear sunny skies for the best golfing conditions!

We had tremendous participation in all our tournaments this summer. We are so lucky to have a community filled with passionate golfers who always keep the competition challenging and friendly!  Congratulations to all tournament winners and best of luck to next year’s participants.

Be sure to check out Kernwood’s Golf101 Series on YouTube. This series features our Assistant Golf Professionals Keith Bursey, Craig Pitman, and Steve Bramlet, teaching lessons on chipping, putting, and course etiquette!

Great Events

This year was full of great celebrations for members, families, and friends!

Our Miami Night had a great turn out, and was a tropical and fun night for all. We are excited to make this poolside extravaganza an annual event!

There was a lot of friendly competition at the club after hours this year. Our Annual Kernwood Family Feud Night brought laughs to all, with the winners being team “Quit Yo Pitchin’ (The Oppenheims, The Carters, & The Strasnicks)! We are excited to see who will be reigned the winning team next year.

We also had our first Kernwood Chopped! Competition that brought the heat to the Main Dining Room. Team Beverly Babes (Cindy Bello & Rachel Ruggieri) rose to the top and were crowned Chopped Champions! Next year’s competition is sure to turn the heat up a notch!

Our Winter Wonderland celebration brought together the entire community in an evening to celebrate the wonderful season we have had. This annual event was full of snowflakes, frozen cocktails, and laughs from all.

Join us in 2017

The 2017 Social and Golf calendar is already beginning to fill up and we can’t wait for another great season with members and guests. As always, please spread the word of how great of a community Kernwood is and encourage family and friends to consider joining this unique community!
